Kissed by stardust from the rings of Saturn, Vivian became Spiral and was thereby inspired to created a unique, mesmerizing style of hoop dance. Part whirling dervish, circus artist, modern dancer, yogi and acrobat, her life was forever transformed by a love for circles and an affinity for revolutionary motion.

A pioneer in the development of hoop dance vocabulary, Spiral continues to inspire and be inspired by the unfolding of this symbolic movement art. 8 years ago, she planted the first hoop seeds in Carrboro, NC under the oak tree on the Weaver St. lawn. Those seeds have grown into a world-renowned and immensely talented hoop community, watered and cultivated by Spiral, Baxter and Jewels.

Since moving on from Carrboro to further pursue her calling as a traveling performer and modern-day gypsy, her engaging performances have wowed audiences from the catwalk in Hong Kong to nightclubs in Vienna, to a boisterous crowd of 20,000 in Michigan. Her performance skills include hoop manipulation, contact juggling, living statue, fire dance, aerial silks and aerial hoop. She performs and teaches hoop dance all over the globe. She was also been nominated for numerous Hooping.org awards including “Female Hooper of the Year” two years running.
